IPS Tubing (Iron Pipe Size) For many years, copper tubing and heat-fused polyethylene piping represented the preferred connecting systems for LP gas installation. The 1992 edition of NFPA-58 now permits the use of mechanical joining methods for polyethylene piping systems. These revisions make NFPA-58 consistent with the natural gas codes which have permitted mechanical joining of polyethylene gas piping for many years. Now LP gas installers can save time and money by selecting a complete, mechanically joined polyethylene distribution system from Perfection that meets the requirements of NFPA-58.
Perfection's Permasert system provides for fast, safe and easy connections in all weather conditions without special tools or costly equipment. Perfection offers you a complete, mechanically joined polyethylene LP gas distribution system that complies with NFPA-58. In addition, the complete line meets or exceeds the applicable requirements of ASTM D-2513, U.S. DOT Part 192, CSA B137.4 and IAPMO.
The Permasert LP gas distribution system consists of anodeless service line risers, mechanical fittings, transition fittings, mechanical tapping tees, and shut-off valves. Complementing these products is a variety of repair and reducing couplings, tees and ells. Polyethylene piping systems are revolutionizing the LP gas industry because of their ease of installation and superior resistance to corrosion.
Polyethylene (PE) piping systems should be considered for use in stationary domestic and commercial vapor applications of 30 lbs. or less. Under DOT and NFPA-58 regulations all persons installing PE piping shall be trained under the applicable joining procedure. This training shall be documented. FEI salesmen are qualified in training whether it be mechanical or fusion application. For further information see paragraphs 2-4(f), 2-4.3(d), Section 2-4.4, 3-2.8.6 and A-2-4.4(c)(3) of 1992 NFPA Pamphlet 58. NOTE: Poly tubing sold in 500' rolls only! All tubing marked by the foot for easy calculation.
